**UPDATE** The event for tonight, Thursday October 2nd 2008, has been canceled. Too many of the people I originally hoped to participate will be unavailable. We will try again at next year’s Theosofest (9/12/09). That should be enough time to make to really prepare! We’ll also have a much bigger audience. Thanks to everyone for their efforts. I’ll be in touch about getting commitments for next year. Cheers, CR

We’re on for October 2nd, 2008!
I previously posted on a movement called Pecha Kucha that I believe could be adopted for presenting theosophy. I’m very excited to share that the first Theosophical Pecha Kucha Night will be held at Olcott on Thursday, October 2nd, 2008.
I will need four or five volunteers, or teams, to participate. The theme will be ‘Theosophical Visions’. How you interpret that is up to you.
Remember, the basic format is each presenter will get to show and discuss 20 images, each for 20 seconds, giving them 6 minutes and 40 seconds. A short Q&A will follow each presentation and we’ll have a panel discussion at the end.
Let’s use this forum to brainstorm on how to make this event a huge success.
****UPDATE****
I still need more participants for this event! Please contact me immediately (theosophist@mac.com) to sign up. Also, please start talking it up to anyone you know, send links to this post to friends and colleagues and strangers. Let’s pack the house and prove that theosophy can be fun and exciting!
Sounds like an interesting experiment. If I were around Wheaton I’d be sure to contribute. One could also go very retro with illustrations from the Leadbeater books (occult chemistry, thought forms etc.)
I’m definitely considering using an image from Thought Forms, and maybe one of Dora Kunz’z aura pictures.
Chris, quick question: How are these images being presented? Via PowerPoint? I just need to know what format to put my images in.
